As extreme weather events become increasingly unpredictable, weather data has evolved from being merely informative to becoming a direct operational input for many industries. However, existing solutions are largely low resolution, generalized, and insufficient to meet real time decision making needs. Buluttan addresses this gap with location specific, high resolution numerical weather forecasting and artificial intelligence models. We are pleased to welcome Buluttan into our portfolio in support of this approach.
Founded in 2022, Buluttan combines field level data with physical models through its AI powered infrastructure, delivering continuously updated forecasts at sub kilometer resolution. This technology enables safer and more efficient operations, particularly in weather sensitive domains such as air, land, and maritime transportation, as well as logistics. In addition, Buluttan’s production forecasting solutions for renewable energy assets help improve planning efficiency while reducing operational costs.
Buluttan’s technical capabilities are further reflected in its international collaborations. The company is part of the EU Horizon WeatherGenerator project, one of Europe’s largest meteorology consortia, where it works alongside leading public meteorological institutions as the only private meteorology company in the consortium. This positioning underscores Buluttan’s scientific depth and technological sophistication beyond its commercial offerings.
Our investment decision in Buluttan was driven by the global relevance of the problem it addresses, the clarity of its technical approach, and the team’s long term perspective. As Buluttan aims to accelerate its growth in Türkiye and strengthen its presence across Europe and the Middle East, we believe the company has strong potential to create lasting value in the weather intelligence space. We are pleased to be part of this journey.
